The 4th Greater Bay Area Chinese Language Forum convened at Shenzhen University’s International Conference Hall and the Eyes of the GBA. Jointly organized by the School of Humanities, the Graduate School, and Pengcheng Literary Academy of Shenzhen University, with co-organization by Sun Yat-sen University’s Department of Chinese Language and Literature and The Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Department of Chinese Language and Literature, the forum gathered scholars and industry leaders from across the Greater Bay Area.

Discussions centered on new liberal arts development, AI-humanities integration, Chinese language talent cultivation, and literary growth in the Bay Area.

During the opening session, the Shenzhen University Greater Bay Area Urban Culture and Smart Humanities Research Center was inaugurated by Vice President Li Yonghua, Dean Ma Zili, Vice Dean Xie Xiaoxia, and Assistant Dean Zhou Meng. Keynote speeches were chaired by Zhou Meng and Dong Li, featuring experts’ frontier insights and experiences.

Three panel sessions followed: Chinese language education and talent system building; constructing China’s independent knowledge and discourse systems; and applying digital technology and regional culture to strengthen Chinese studies.

In the afternoon, participants visited Nanshan Archives and the Eyes of the GBA, experiencing local cultural achievements firsthand. A roundtable on Literature, Technology, and the Multidimensional Growth Space of Future Bay Area Literature, moderated by Professor Tang Qiyun, addressed Lingnan cultural heritage, urban literary expression, AI-enabled creative transformation, and multimodal literary dissemination. Attendees agreed that Bay Area literature must be rooted in local culture while embracing technological empowerment, fostering innovation, public participation, and cross-media development.

The forum consolidated scholarly and industry consensus, laying foundations for literary prosperity and cultural advancement in the Greater Bay Area.
